You'll start with a consultation with Dr. Slobodian. He will assess your oral health, discuss your medical history, and plan the treatment. This may include X-rays and scans to evaluate your jawbone.
On the day of the procedure, you'll receive local or general anesthesia to ensure you're comfortable and pain-free. If you have any remaining damaged or decayed teeth, they may be extracted.
While your implants heal and integrate with your jawbone (usually a few months), you'll receive temporary teeth to maintain functionality and appearance.
Dr. Slobodian will surgically place the dental implant(s) into your jawbone. These implants act as artificial tooth roots.
Over several months, the implant(s) will integrate with your jawbone through a process called osseointegration. This is crucial for the stability of the implant.
Once the implant has integrated, an abutment is attached to the implant to serve as a connector for the final crown. A custom-made crown, designed to match your natural teeth, is then secured to the abutment.
After the procedure, regular follow-up appointments and good oral hygiene practices are important for the long-term success of your dental implants. This includes brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups.
